Shadow of the Trees

I asked a simple question: If you could communicate with the trees, what would you say? Or more importantly, what would you hear? During the Kaarta-garup field trip, Noongar elder, Simon Forrest encouraged us to reach out and touch the bush and listen to it. He explained the importance of Boodja nei and listening, and touching. (Forrest, S. 2022). This project, Shadow of the Trees, is a response to the voices heard in Kaarta-Garup: that there is great destruction taking place in the nearby forests within the Perth Hills.
