Green Book

The title of this project is Green Book. Green Book is a performative conversation with nature: I take my writing words as material form and transform and recycle them, using living organic material into a book form that explores the delicate relationship between our human culture and natural culture, to raise awareness of sustainability issues. Inspired by the Huon River as site, Green Book is part of the evolutionary process that originally responds with creative writing developed in this unit. It reaches across disciplines and exchanges the artist's role with the scientific gardener, to explore concepts of materiality and durations using germinated wheat seeds, nurtured and guided using subterranean wax tablets on which scripted passages of reflective writing have been hand-carved.
